Zeke's Dedication

Zeke was dedicated on December 7th 2008 at Hillcrest Church. It was a really nice service and both our families were there.  After the service we had everyone over to our house for pizza.  :)

Thanks everyone for supporting Nathan and Zeke and I during Zeke's dedication.  We're so glad we have such great family!  We love you all!

Picking our Christmas Tree

We got our tree early this year!  I think it was December 6th!  Pretty amazing if you'd ask me.
Zeke and Nate had to check to make sure the coast was clear so we could leave to get our christmas tree. silly boys!
We went up a couple blocks to Young Stocks where we saw my cousin Cory and found the perfect tree.
Zeke said no to this one.
He didn't like this one so much either...
Finally he approved of a lovely frazier tree so we went to starbucks to celebrate. After we got home and set the tree up, we went to a Christmas Cantata at Fountain Community Church.  It was pretty fun.  A great way to get into the christmas mood.

Zeke

Zeke and I went to Boulevard Park in early December.  It was super fun!  Zeke was checking out all the Seagulls.
Zeke loves to scoot all around
He's learning to sit up on his own!  it's so cute!
Check out his mad skills!  He's even supporting himself with his arm!
This is such a cute picture!  His chubby cheeks and his button chin!  aaahh!  he's adorable!

pictures from this weekend

Such a little cutie in his new sweater from Grandma!
Curious about Dobie Craig and Angies puppy.
Can you tell that he is sitting by himself?  He's holding his crib rail, but he's sitting!  It didn't last long, but it was cool to see.
Playing on his quilt from Great Grandma during tummy time.

3 nights in the crib

Zeke has completed 3 nights in his crib.  What a trooper!  He's been sleeping increasingly longer every night.  Last night it was 11 hours!  I'm still trying to figure out how naps work...  he's been napping for almost an hour now which is pretty amazing.  My body isn't used to the extra sleep yet and my mind isn't used to focusing on anything but Zeke so we are still in a time of adjustment.  He is sleeping better than he ever has before and he's showing "typical" sleepy signs now so it's easier to know when he's tired and when he wants to play.

Today I laid him down on the floor in his bedroom and he was so interested in things that he tried to make his way over to them...  He made it and then was so tired from trying that he wasn't interested in the toy as much.  I'd say he's working hard at trying to crawl...

Ezekiels first night in his crib!

Since Zeke was born, we've had him sleeping in our bed with us which has been awesome and hard at the same time.  Last night for the first time we put him in his crib.  He did such a great job!  He woke up only once to eat and get a diaper change at 6am and then woke up again at 8:30.   At Zeke's 4 month appointment the doctor said she would recommend that we start teaching him to self soothe by laying him down on his own while he is slightly awake and letting him fall asleep on his own, or cry himself to sleep as the case has been for naps during the day.   It's pretty amazing...  I barely slept at all last night... I was so worried that I wouldn't hear him cry or that he would just be scared all night long that I felt anxious.  I'm just glad that he got a better sleep than I did and hopefully tonight will be just as good.  I am a little nervous about tonight...  I mean so far it seems a little too good to be true.

It's our 37th Monthiversary!

Here are some pictures from stuff we've done this past week.
Zeke was thrilled to open cards from family for Halloween. He's wearing glow in the dark PJ's from his Aunt Abby!

Today there was a torrential downpour! We went to the park before church to watch the rain!
